3-Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari – Gorilla Trekking in Parc Des Volcanoes National
This is a 3-days Rwanda gorilla safari. This safari will cover the most beautiful and adventures area of Parc Nationale des Volcanoes found in the northern province of Rwanda. The Park is mainly known for the four major habituated mountain gorilla families which attracts visitors to go for exciting gorilla tracking along the hills of the park. Gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans is possible in any period of the year, other than Gorilla tracking, optional activities during the day can be done and it includes: Village tour to experience the communities, Visit to Diana Fossy grave, Hike the mountain peaks, and tracking the Golden monkey.

Day 1: Arrive at Ruhengeri
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Parc National des Volcanoes
Day 3: Gorilla Park – Kigali
Day 1: Arrive at Ruhengeri
Depending on your arrival time to Kigali International Airport, if this is in the morning a cup of coffee would be Ideal and if you arrive in time for lunch, then you will be served at Bourbon Coffee Restaurant while briefing will be proceeding and a drive to the Mountain Gorilla park later, with stopovers to take beautiful scenic pictures of Rwanda country side of a Thousand Hills, another stop over to view one of the Meandering River below the valleys, colorful markets along the way, farm terraces and different plant species including birds as you are driven on. Arriving your hotel / Lodge at 5:00pm for Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Parc National des Volcanoes
After an early breakfast, depart to the park headquarters for the briefing on Gorilla trip formalities with packed lunch and trekking gears to enable you trek easily. Set off for trekking into the tropical rain forest in search for the habituated gorilla groups. It’s the most breathtaking and distressing wildlife experiences one can have by getting close to the animals to get a good observation. The huge biodiversity, implausible scenery and extraordinary views also attracts your attention. Overnight.

Optional Activities:
1. Dian Fossey Tomb is the most sought trekking trails after safari activities carried out while visiting Volcanoes national park for a gorilla trip. The trek is 30 minutes drive from the park headquarters to the trail headed access to the Karisoke research camp where visitors walk for 10 minutes to the park boundary. The walk from the park boundary to the research center where the Dian’s grave is, takes about an hour to 1 hour and a half hours and affords good views of forest hogs, forest elephants, a variety of primates and bird species.
2. Climbing Mt Karisimbi is a strenuous yet very rewarding 2 days hike. The climb starts early in the morning taking 6 hours and involves navigating through the Bisoke side before reaching the first stopping place at an altitude of 3,700 metres for overnight camping before finishing off the journey the next day.
3. Golden monkeys trekking takes place in Volcanoes national park and at the same time 7:00 just like gorillas. These rare species are also listed as endangered – and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, both of which make about 80 members.

4. Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village gives you a rare chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of our culture and traditions. Be genuinely welcomed by the community as a special visitor while they proudly present to you aspects of their traditions and beliefs. The only way to get to know people, is getting close and interacting with local people, and taking part in their daily activities and most of all with them.
Day 3: Gorilla Park – Kigali
Early departure after your breakfast in the morning at 8:00am from gorilla park sight seeing before Lunch shall be served at the restaurant in Kigali then afternoon visit to places in the city that will include genocide memorial site at Gisozi. This big place ant it take a lot of time to complete almost to 4 hrs and then a few art and craft shops in the city and many others. Transfer to Kigali Airport to find your departure flight.
