Day 1: Arrival to Kigali International Airport
You will arrive to Kigali international Airport meet with you guide from Ababa Uganda Safaris who will transfer you to your hotel of choice on the start of this 5-days Rwanda gorilla safari, there will be a briefing, and overnight here in Kigali.
Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Gorilla Park
After your breakfast this morning you will drive for a city tour, the city offers you the chance to Discover the Capital city tourism opportunities and which will take you around the busy town with historical ambiance of old colonial era. To democracy, from slums to the suburbs. Visit the genocide memorial site at Gisozi that tells the history of Rwanda leading up to the Genocide in 1994 and catalogues the details of the genocide using photographs, video, written accounts and art facts.
It includes personal testimonies and a moving memorial to the children of the Rwandan genocide; the wasted lives reflected in the holocaust and genocide in Armenia, South-West Africa, Bosnia and Cambodia. Day 3: Gorilla trekking activity at Parc de Volcanoes
Wake up early for breakfast and later transfer to park headquarters for routine briefing. Later trek through the tropical Virunga rain forest in search of the rare mountain gorilla. Carry enough water, wear good walking shoes for rough surface, water-proof warm clothing, sun-screen, insect-repellent to protect you from bits of insects in the forest and a hat. A no-flush camera is recommended because you will come up close with these gentle giants mammals . The park ranger guides will make your 4 – 6 hour trek both educative and enjoyable in this adventure. Return for Dinner and overnight at you previous hotel/lodge of choice.
Day 4: second day optional gorilla trekking safari
After an early morning breakfast at 06:30am, transfer to the national park headquarters for briefing by the park rangers before departing for the hike in search for the Great Mountain Gorillas (possibly visiting a different family). The excursion in a thick rain forest and the interaction with the mountain ape, gives a wonderful experience in life; afternoon Drive to Gisenyi after breakfast enjoys your day in Gisenyi the small town on the shores of Lake Kivu. Lunch, dinner and night.
Optional Activities at Extra charge: You May opt to go to the Twin Lakes of Ruhundo and Burera, or a village walk to experience sorghum making and farm lands, visit the cultural sites and markets in Ruhengeri Town, Golden monkey tracking, or Diana Fossy Grave Yard. Please inquire for extras if required.
Day 5: Drive back to kigali
Depending on you flight schedule, you will drive straight from the park to the Airport to catch your flight back home, otherwise have your time enough to shop for souvenirs in the city before you depart off.
