The experience that Uganda went in the past turbulent periods of uncertainty when almost all parts of the country people went to live out side in exile in fear of being killed by blood thirst armed forces, however in 1986, peace returned to this beautiful country after this forces were chased a way out of the government.

When visiting Uganda expect to enjoy your safari in any part of the country although just like any other country in the world there are petty thieves so we advice that you keep well your important valuables. In the National parks, security is well put in place by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and the Army that back this force to protect visitors, by trained ranger guides who monitor any threats of insecurity here.

Uganda has very good climate through out the year with two seasons, as related to the rest of the world, however there seem that climatic patterns changing and thereby making it more difficult to predict the weather before and during your safari.

On the other hand, the temperatures are very stable and pleasant only rising on the lower altitude of Northern Uganda, with sunshine through out the 365 days of the year.

During the day the temperature ranges between 20°C to 29°C, though it cools down in the night. There are two seasons in the year where most heavy rains are received; the month of March- mid-May, and November mid-December.

The month of April and November receive more rains in the year on average between 500mm to 2500mm; there is relative humidity of 70% – 100% these seasons allow planting and harvesting of crops in most parts of the country, without the use of irrigation. You could consider this month, because there are plenty of mountain Gorilla Permits available and you can choose the group of gorilla to track. The weather conditions here allow you to travel to Uganda either in the dry whether, dusty months or in wet season, you will find fresh and uncrowded tourism unlike in Kenya or Tanzania which is mass.

Depending on where you are coming from, you only need your passport to be valid at least 6 month a head.
You can obtain your visa through the Uganda representative in your country, if there is no representative there is no need to worry, visas can be purchased upon arrival at Entebbe Airport at cost of USD $20 for students, US$ 50 per person single entry, USD$80 for multiple entry for 6 month, USD$160 multiple entry for 1 year and USD$15 for inland transit.
Its always advisable that before you leave your country take Vaccination against yellow fever which is mandatory, Immunizations against DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio) and Hepatitis A and B are recommended as well, and this is required before you enter Uganda.

Besides vaccination it’s important that you bring insect repellent, also for emergency carry a mosquito net in you bag, though there are mosquito nets in every hotel in the cities and parks. We also advise you to take malaria prevention medications before and during your trip, as Uganda is located within the tropical altitude the are possible occurancies of Malaria carrier mosquitoes to land on your blood for transfusion. Luxury accommodations are 4 or 5 star lodges, providing comfortable rooms or luxury furnished tents and a private bathroom. Flush toilets as well as hot and cold running water will be available. .

Of course a tip fully depends on the level of your satisfaction, but even a small amount to show your gratitude will be highly appreciated. You can think of USD 5-10 or 20 per day if you were happy with the service of your guide however it would be difficult for the next clients on safari as the guides would expect more and 5-10% in (luxurious) hotels and restaurants. The small, local restaurants are not used to tipping.
